We at the Alternative School serve in a cooperative and collaborative effort with all of the eleven schools throughout the Houston County School System. We provide assistance with disciplinary problems for grades K-12, in the form of an alternative setting and the services of other agencies as needed. We continue to stress the need for the student to perform in the classroom to the best of his or her ability and provide assistance as needed. During the 2010-2011 school year, services were provided for 667 students on 1215 referrals, of which 83 were rated as class 3. This computes to 5454 days referred and the average length of a referral being 5 days. |
