Houston County High School is a grades 7-12 school approximately 18 miles east of Dothan, Al along State Highway 52 in the city of Columbia, AL. HCHS serves approximately 400 students living in the northeast section of Houston County. HCHS has a staff of approximately 30 professional personnel as well as approximately 15 support personnel.

The school offers both core academic and advanced level courses as well as courses designed for special needs students. HCHS has a fully equipped computer applications lab where students come for Microsoft Applications instruction and subject area remediation. Each classroom is also equipped with computer workstations for students to use in subject area remediation, Internet projects and quests, extra credit work, or computer assisted instruction as assigned by the teacher.

HCHS offers a well rounded and comprehensive athletic program for Sr. High and Jr. High boys and girls. Students enjoy participating in football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and softball (fast-pitch) GO LIONS!
