Georgia Allen, School Counseling Coordinator

My name is Georgia Allen. I am the Houston County Schools Counseling Coordinator. I received my undergraduate degree from Chipola College and the University of West Florida with a major in Elementary and Special Education.  My Master's degree is in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. I have had the privilege of working in the school system and in private mental health facilities and offices in the Wiregrass and Panhandle of Florida for many years. I have experience working with children and adults of all ages and abilities addressing mental health, education, vocational skills, and behavior concerns. 

Your children are the most important thing to me!  As their School Counseling Coordinator, I will work towards making sure their academic journey is filled with mentors, role models, and positive experiences.  The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major effect on our lives. Many of us are facing challenges that can be stressful, overwhelming, and cause strong emotions in adults and children. 

There are services in place to help your student be successful in the Houston County School System, just reach out if there is a need. If you feel your son or daughter is struggling please do not hesitate to contact me or your school counselor!
