Houston County Schools is dedicated to maintaining transparency and adhering to the Alabama Open Records Act (Alabama Code § 36-12-40). This procedure provides guidance on how to request public records from Houston County Schools, ensuring that all requests are handled promptly and in compliance with applicable laws.
Eligibility
Under the new Open Records Act, only residents can request records. That means a person who permanently resides in Alabama, and proof of such can be an Alabama driver’s license or voter registration.
Response Time
Houston County Schools will acknowledge receipt of the request within 10 business days.
